What fascinates you about Steampunk?

I would say what fascinates me most about Steampunk is the “what could have been” future, and still may end up being future upcoming, especially with another potential economic crash. If that happens, you’ll end up with people utilizing current tech with dated methods resulting in a quite interesting future, mixed with steampunk-ey elements. Would probably make for a great novel, not so much a great reality though!
